We are now accepting applications for this year's auditions!
Participate in our community music project and make your musical voice heard. We're currently holding auditions for young musicians who want to showcase their skills and enjoy the experience. Join our music project for FREE and display your talent!

Open to young musicians between the ages of 11 and 17 (as at 1-Sept-2026).

Note. If you are already attending Harlow Rock School as a student, you will also need to audition.

What Happens Next?
  • Application Confirmation: Once you have submitted your application form, we will email you and your parent/guardian a confirmation that we have received it, usually within 48 hours.
  • Before your audition: Please prepare at least 1 piece of music (min 4 minutes long) that you will perform for our panel in your audition.
  • Backing Tracks: If you need a backing track, please bring it on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. We will connect this to our sound system.
  • Under 16: If you are under the age of 16, please attend with your parent/guardian.
  • The Audition: During your audition, we may ask you a few music-related questions and/or have you complete a few music-related activities. These are designed to help us understand how you could fit into our bands.
    The audition day will be run on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Audition Duration: Your audition will last a total of between 10 and 15 minutes. After you finish, you are free to leave
  • Media: We may take photos and/or video of your audition for our internal evaluation of your performance.
  • Selection: Our selection process will be complete once all audition sessions conclude, before 11-Sept-2025.
  • Audition Outcome: You will receive an email confirming the outcome of your audition on or after 5-Sept-2025.
  • Number of Students: As a guide, our current plan is to form 10 bands, each with 4-5 members, with a total of up to 50 students. Half will attend Monday sessions, and the other half will attend Friday sessions.
  • The panel's selection is final. We may operate a holding list if we are oversubscribed, as we usually have a few dropouts.

  • Guitar, Bass, Mic, Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar
  • If you are auditioning as a drummer a full kit will be provided, however, please bring your own sticks.
Audition venue:
The auditions will take place at our venue: 
  • Katherine’s Hatch Common Room, Katherine's, Harlow CM19 5NP. Our entrance is to the left of the barbers.
